Columbia Class of 2020 ED Applicant Thread

Hi, everyone! I’m also planning on applying to Columbia.

Applying to Columbia RD Co2020. Not at the top of my list but I’m still applying for sure!

I’m hoping to apply here as well! I’d like to focus on East Asian Studies and International Relations, and as NYC is the most global city in America, and Columbia has absolute stellar academics, it’s a win in every possible way!! (then there’s also my wish to be in Koreatown every weekend XD)

I applied ED to Columbia and got deferred so I’m currently waiting for my decision. Take my advice and START EARLY. Ask anything if you’re curious. Now is the time for you guys to start planning and getting everything planned out.

Applying to Columbia RD for Class of 2020! Are the essay supplements the same each year?I want to get ahead and do my essays during thr summer since my IB & AP program gets intensive senior year. Good luck to everyone else!

So a kid on Twitter just said he received an athletic offer of admission today. That’s not possible right? He’s probably just mistaking an acceptance for a letter telling him to apply right?

Hey guys! I am an international student (from Italy) and visited Columbia last summer. I was interested in the FE major but it is a too much “tight” field of study so I may aim for the Economics-Political Science double major  my stats are way lower than the average ones so I’m retaking the ACT this September. I’d like to work in the UN or something similar! I’m applying ED and EA to Fordham, Franklin University Switzerland, John Cabot University and Northeastern

Hey guys! I’ll be applying to Columbia College RD and hopefully graduating in the Class of 2020 if all goes well ^.^ glad to see others with similar aspirations

Hey! Applying ED, we’ll see how that goes! Good luck to you all

Thinking about applying ED, I definitely may!! I love the city and Columbia’s campus is gorgeous. If any of you have time, consider chancing me? I’ll chance back!

Good luck to everyone

Hey guys, 2020 here! I’m also debating ED for SEAS, just unsure about my major- I want to start in engineering and possibly transfer to chemistry or something if I don’t like it (I assume you can transfer between SEAS and CC).

Hey guys! Also applying ED to Columbia for Class of 2020! Hoping to have my education include music, drama/theatre arts, and environmental science (I’m not yet 100% sure on how I would balance those interests, but I’ll work it out).

Feel free to chance me also! I’ll chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/columbia-university/1789531-chances-ill-be-sure-to-chance-back-ed-applicant-for-class-of-2020.html#latest

We’re all here to help each other, right? So everybody start posting the number one thing that he/she thinks will get him/her into Columbia. Let the chaos begin!

Hey guys, if any of you chanced me for Columbia I would really appreciate it! I’ll chance back

Won’t be applying EA/ED but will def be applying RD.

Any other ChemEng hopefuls on this thread?’

Really random (for a ChemE) but I hope CU would give me the opportunity to intern at the UN

Will probably apply RD either here or Barnard (probably whichever has the cheaper application fee which I’ll look up now lol) I’m intent on majoring in music so I believe most classes for that are through Barnard anyway (EDIT: nevermined confused music with theatre and dance)

Super pumped for this fall. Tough choice between Yale and Columbia for ED w/ a major in Economics/minor in Electrical Engineering. Best of luck to all!

Hello everyone! It’s summer and I’m totally freaking out because Common App isn’t open yet AGGGGHHH

Columbia has been my top school for multiple reasons and there’s honestly nothing more I’ve wanted for the past three years than to go there. However, I realize than only a slim margin of applicants get in, so I’m also considering Barnard for ED (which is my 2nd choice for same and different reasons).

I’d like to major in Biology (any one else on track for pre-med?)!! Good luck to everyone who’s applying and let’s try not to lose our minds until Dec. 15th!!!

Don’t let this thread die!

Eagle Scout applying ED from North Dakota! Makes me sound straight hick I know but I’m not I promise!

Who would let this thread die? Not me, of course! I loved Columbia, for its location, its feel, its people, and its Core Curriculum. Over the last year, I have had to sit down and think very hard (it was a gut-wrenching decision) about whether to apply to Columbia or UPenn ED, but I eventually settled for UPenn because my dad went there, and I feel like legacy would at least allow me to get into one of my top two choices, but if UPenn doesn’t work out, then I am definitely applying to Columbia RD with an intended major of Economics - Philosophy (pre-law track) in Columbia College. I wish all of you good luck and hope that you have made progress so far on your essays and supplements if you have access to any.
