@TrazCapDEV There is probably a higher availability of alumni interviewers in your area than mine. Hope I get the chance for an interview soon. Good luck on yours!
I researched in my area that there are a few clubs runned by Columbia’s alumni. One of their locations is right near where I live, is it possible if i can contact them if they are willing to interview me?
just realized, that’s a dumb question ^ i can’t contact them. Sorry for portraying ignorance guys.
Is anyone’s application portal up yet and if so are you able to see whether or not they have received your test scores, letters of rec. etc?
@manmusthaveacode My portal is all up and everything has been received. Just waiting (hopefully) for the interview notification via email.
@WeasleyIsKing425 , ok thanks. I guess Ill check again.
@WeasleyIsKing425 Normally they give most of the early decision applicants an interview. My interviewer contacted me last week and he said all ED interviews will be completed before November 30th, so I guess there are still a few weeks, don’t worry, you will eventually get one
@crystallemon Awesome! Thanks so much.
what does ‘colu’ stand for in the application status page
@Cypher187 Colu=Columbia?
I have a question…So I just checked my status and it looks like everything required is received by the admission office. But at the beginning of October, my counselor submitted the evaluation letter from the summer program I attended in Columbia last summer, is there any way to check whether they received that?
How important are interviews? I just had mine and it went pretty well, but wasn’t super amazing.
@graceann because they’re optional, I can’t imagine they hold major importance. the only time I saw someone benefit greatly from the interview was in a results thread, they spoke with a student who said that they were made for columbia (paraphrase) and that they’ll do anything to have them come to the school. Then again, that person could’ve been accepted on merit alone.
I’d say the interview is most important for candidates who need to express more about themselves than the application can carry.
Speaking of interviews - I haven’t received an email about an interview nor does my portal say anything about it. Should I be worried? I was really hoping for one, and people in my area have received alumni interviews in the past.
@noahvf I’m in the same boat - waiting for an interview notification and people in my area have done interviews in the past. @crystallemon said that since all ED interviews will be completed before Nov. 30, we still have time to get a notification. (Patience is quite tough at this time, but gotta hang in there)
Had a friend who went on an interview yesterday. The interviewer was brutally honest about the fact that interviews don’t even count for that much (unless you bomb it).
Good luck everyone
@graceann Honestly, they are trivial. I know two guys that were accepted without having an interview.
@TrazCapDEV Were they accepted ED? I’m wondering whether the interview plays a different role ED vs. RD.
@WeasleyIsKing425 Yes, both were accepted ED
If anyone wants to chance feel free

Hey! Does anybody know roughly when we will receive ED notification? Or any statistics that are different from RD for admission? I have heard first week of December for a notification date, and I haven’t been able to find any admission statistics for ED only. Thank you, and good luck to everyone!
