@clueless96 it talks about science opportunities at columbia and comes with a PDF brouchere
“To help you become more familiar with Columbia’s scientific community, we invite you to explore our website and our science publication, Science at Columbia - Brilliant Blue, as introductions to the enormous range of possibilities that undergraduate scientists here may pursue.”
@GrapePocky Yeah, I got that. Has anyone heard about the science named scholars yet? I know chances are slim but it sounds like a great opportunity
@hershey2010 - no i havent! yeah it does sound like a great opportunity.
(@grapepocky) Yes, I got that. I’m a prospective bio major who got a LL though, so I assumed it was recruiting.
The scholars’ programs sound very cool (and like a big honor). I don’t really know the distinctions among the six, though (other than Egleston = Engineering).
I don’t think I got it, but I didn’t apply to a science major
do you guys know if there have been many likely letters for SEAS? seems like many were headed to Columbia College applicants
Hello, have any international student LL recipients also had alumni interviews?
How many of you guys had interviews?
I got a LL but never had an interview. I thought I read that Columbia gives out a lot less alumni interviews than the other Ivies.
I didn’t have an interview either (@thetsaria)
@thetsaria @Anonymoose3 Same, I got a LL but never had an interview
@thetsaria I will attest to the lack of interview (still got a LL tho).
@frenchtoastlover - are you an international applicant?
@thetsaria I had an interview, but my LL email arrived five minutes afterwards, so I’m guessing it didn’t really matter.
@hershey2010
Interesting… Totally independent as it should. PS: no interview and LL for me.
@thetsaria I had an interview!
@hoggy247 Was it any different than other interviews you’ve had?
I’ve had interviews with Harvard, Princeton, UPenn, Brown, Stanford, and Dartmouth. Actually, the only schools I’ve heard from are those I haven’t had an interview for. Maybe the others were deterred by my terrible personality lmao
I believe Columbia is issuing likelies as they decide who can be given a scholar title and they are sending these out as and when they finalize a list for a specific designation. They issue a few every week and traditionally people have received them until the week before. However, I don’t believe more than 200 such admissions are made but I could be wrong on the total. The fact that they issue a few everyweek makes it look like they are issuing a lot.
Dartmouth follows a similar process if I am not mistaken - issue a few every week?
Yale accepted 150-200 STEM applicants through likelies last month, all in one shot. They are not worried about recruiting any other group.
@thetsaria are you an international student?
