Does anyone know if Columbia gives any weight to legacy status? My son is there now and his sister is waiting until tonight to hear.
@SexyCow I was waitlisted from UMich too!! Some people have said that they practice yield protection/Tuft’s syndrome but I’m not sure how true that is
@sstterry it helps but not much. If your kid is not a superb applicant at all then it does not really do much since they don’t accept a ton of legacies for the whole class and there are a ton of legacies applying every year. You just honestly have to stand out and hope that someone will take great care of your child’s application and vouch for her. It’s all about fit.
A friend of mine was telling me how her high school counselor basically sat the whole class down and told them it was going to be brutal, not everyone was getting in, but life goes on… Wish my counselor would be that chill! Best of luck to everyone!

I lost my password for columbia so when i logged in earlier i clicked forgot. When i did, it said it would send a temporary pin but they haven’t sent anything. It said it should be a couple minutes but it’s been 30. Any ideas/anyone have a similar problem?
Click send pin again maybe?
@sstterry Legacy is only for parents / Grand parents. Not for siblings. Unfortunately.
