Columbia Class of 2020 RD Thread

@MijoChbulkan Okay, same. That makes me feel better at least!

Hi guys, I got deferred ED and am just joining this thread :slight_smile:

I just got an email from a Columbia alum for an interview! If you haven’t gotten one yet, keep your eyes peeled :slight_smile:

Still haven’t been contacted :frowning:

Hi guys! I also received a phone call from a Columbia alum yesterday for an interview. (Taiwanese applicant)

@shadyconcepts @amanda25512
Did you guys apply to SEAS?

@Learner12388 Nope, I applied to the College. I live in NJ so I might’ve been contacted soon bc there’s a lot of alumni around us.

I did @Learner12388

@zacle1234 I think that’s fine. Even my interviewer is a SEAS class of 15’er.

Ahhhhh still not contacted yet. Was looking around and there’s definitely a alumni association where I live.

Really want one too :confused: . When is the latest you guys think they’ll contact people?

I want an interview too, but I didn’t get contacted yet either. I’m in NY so obviously there are alums around…

I am sure its coming. Just hang on. Probably the # of applicants in the east coast is also a large pool.

Got a letter from Columbia saying “I am pleased you are interested in learning more about Columbia… My staff and I look forward to meeting you and we wish you the best of luck in your college search.” What does this mean? Does it mean something good or bad? Just did an interview last week. The letter was from the dean of admissions.

@Hopeful42020
Relax. I don’t think it’s anything bad.

I got my ID for the Columbia portal…but when can we actually access our application portal to check our applications? On the website, it says we can start checking around February…

@freshlemon123
Same here. It’s like that for all of us, I think.

Rejected Penn ED, applying Columbia RD. guess it’s my new dream school :slight_smile:

Its a good “new” dream :wink:

I have not received any email from Columbia yet regarding an application portal… Should I just email the school asking about it or is this nothing to worry about?

@artin2 That happened to me too, and on their website, they stated that if you don’t receive your Columbia ID within 4 days of submitting your app, you should call the admissions office. I did, and I got my Columbia ID, but as it turns out, if you go to https://apply.college.columbia.edu/apply/status and click “Forgot password” you can create an account without your CUID. Your CUID will be on your applicant portal once you log in. I hope this helps!
