@Spicykins Thank you very much
Did anyone get an email or notification from Columbia other than info about our online application status ID? Do they conduct interviews? I haven’t got asked for an interview yet. Did anyone have an interview already? Thank you!
@freshlemon123 Yes, they do conduct interviews. I had mine over Skype with a class of '15 student last week (I’m an international student)
When are likely letters released for columbia
I didn’t know Columbia sends likely letters
A very small percentage of accepted candidates receive them, so don’t worry if you don’t get one. Around mid-March I know for sure that a batch goes out (Someone at my HS got one last year).
edit (changed the date)
Hi! Anyone got an interview yet in California?
By joint Ivy agreement, Likely letters can be sent anytime between Oct 1 to Mar 15. Each school uses them according to its agenda.
@PWANG96 I haven’t! I talked to a couple of my friends who applied and they hadn’t either.
@bosnian @PWANG96 same here! I’m wondering why Columbia is not conducting interviews…? It’s already February!!
@freshlemon123 Just b/c your small sample of Columbia applicants haven’t been interviewed doesn’t mean they aren’t happening. The fact is applicants far outnumber volunteers. I told a kid I just interviewed to tell his nervous classmates that only about half of them got assigned someone – and it was random. There’s not enough volunteers.
I have an interview this Sunday! I live in Columbus, Ohio. Anyone that has had theirs already have any tips?
I’ll post about how it went after I have mine!
UGH I just got contacted for an interview now, and the interview would be in two days. I’m having surgery tomorrow and I can’t go.
@archanaaxo I had my interview over Skype a few weeks back, and it was very relaxed. The interviewer asked me many questions about why I wanted to come to the US and how I would contribute to Columbia. Apart from that, we talked about my ECs and hobbied and stuff. Best of luck!
Would anyone mind chancing me? (Applied to SEAS)

Hey everyone! I applied RD for Political Science. I figured I’d post here, because I know i’m just as anxious as you all.

When I ran by these stats with a local high school counselor, I was told that today, that would have been a very, very bad strategy. 10 min with plenty of safeties. Fits might be public Ivys, and national liberal arts colleges like Swarthmore or Wellesley. I think I’d have very little chance at Yale or Princeton, which at the time I was encouraged to apply. Today’s kids have it tough…
I got an email today telling me to apply to financial aid. is this a good sign or did everyone get it?
I got it too @helpplss
