What I’ve always said is that you will get in to the school you belong in! The admissions committee is very concerned with choosing students who are curious, can handle the core, and are open to learning new ideas and accepting new cultures and points of view. They can usually sense this from your essays and interviews. If you don’t get in to Columbia, it doesn’t mean you aren’t special, it just means you may be a better fit somewhere else, maybe even another Ivy League or a school ranked higher than ours. Just stay positive!
@2016north2020 Thank you for the advice. We’re all extremely stressed right now, and I appreciate you taking the time to let us ask questions and also for the reassuring words!
my best friends just got into penn and cornell ed :\ gonna be so sad if im the odd one out who has to stress for the next five months
When do decisions come out?

Did any Questbridge finalists not matched choose to do ED to Columbia?
I was deemed a Questbridge Finalist but I opted out of the National Match because I did not like my chances as an Asian applicant. So I decided to do early decision, but I really regret my decision - I shouldn’t have been so picky and I should’ve just accepted wherever I get accepted to.
Hey everyone, I just checked my financial aid document tracking, and all I have is a home screen. Does anyone else have this problem?
@skav3045 Financial aid is down for me too. Probably got taken down the same time application tracking did. You can always email Columbia if you have questions about the status of documents, they got back to me pretty quick
Hey guys, made an account just for this. Below average grades, mediocre SAT and ECs, but I know I would’ve regretted not applying even though the odds are really against me. Good luck everybody!
Even I am a SEAS applicant
Any indian here ?
when does Columbia finish reviewing applications? my GC sent my first quarter grades on Nov. 22, Idk if they had finished reviewing by then.
Does any one know Columbia’s policy for twins? I applied ED with my twin sister and I’m nervous that one of us will get in and the other won’t.
@jctony they requested my transcripts on the 19th from my GC. Pretty sure they were still reviewing around the 22nd
@Meesha Me!! but I’m applying RD, not ED.
Hey, new here. Was anyone else’s counselor sent a request/called from Columbia to send first quarter grades? I’ve only heard about Mid Year Reports being sent out, so this shocked me. What does this mean?
@matt7890 a couple years ago, two twins from my high school got into Columbia so I don’t think you have to worry about being rejected just for being a twin.
Hey from Upstate NY made an account just for this thread
