Hmmm, as a college counselor of 20 years, I have to say your chances are less than stellar. Seems like your extracurriculars are few and far between, and frankly your SAT score seemed low for some one applying to Columbia. To be completely honest, it is more likely for lightning to stike your house than for you to get in. But what do I know?

Good luck anyways

haha. subtly put. thanks.

rishsinha, you clearly haven't even looked at the middle 50% SAT scores for Columbia. 1310 to 1510. Thats over the 50% mark of everyone who is accepted. Also, for the ECs though there may be less quantity, the quality is present. There are people at my school who spend 5+ hours a day preparing for debate. The fact that she does more than debate and school is pretty impressive.

I'd say you have maybe 25% chance to get in at some point, early or regular, w/e. Eearly maybe a little less than that, but thats not really much better than anyone else who is applying considering hte competitivness of teh school.

Other colleges for RD include-

Boston College
Georgetown
Brown
Wellesley
Amherst
Tufts
Northwestern
UPenn
Dartmouth

Input on those would be appreciated. Thanks.
