I’m interested in Columbia College Chicago but I don’t understand what their audition process is like. Are they on-campus auditions? What is the difficulty of the dance call?
@catladylark CCC has made some changes in their audition process and program; I don’t know if more will be made next year. This year, they held auditions for prospective freshman for the BFA MT on the weekend before Chicago Unifieds. The five hour process included a group discussion, dance call and individual song and monologue appointments for about 30 students.
My daughter felt CCC gave students the opportunity to show their skills and experience. It was jazz and ballet oriented but they also requested tap steps from those students who had the background. I don’t know how much it ‘counts’ in the admission decision as CCC does offer multiple levels of MT Dance and Tap.
CCC offers both a BFA in MT Performance and a BA in MT (as well as many other theatre concentrations). You can find the course requirements for both on their website.
