Where should I apply?

I am a girl who wants to major in computer science. I like the engineering school because the math and physics requirements appeal to me more than the core requirements at Columbia College. But which school am I more likely to get into? I have SAT Math 1 Subject test 750 and SAT M 710/CR 770/W 770. Is my SAT math score too low for the engineering school?

I have a 95 GPA with a 97.5 in math and science classes.

Btw, Do the 2 schools share dorms?

I think you should apply to whichever school you like more. You math score is a little low, but it won’t hinder your chances too much. Just make sure you are really convincing about the reasons for your interest in the supplement. Also, for the supplement essay where you expand on the form of entertainment that you like, I would write about something related to computers , math, or science if you do decide to apply to engineering. And they do share dorms.

I know CS students in both schools. Their decision basically came down to whether they wanted to deal with Lit Hum and CC or not.

Originally I felt that the engineering school is best for me based on the fact the the CS classes are identical in both schools but the Core Curriculum at the Engineering school appeals to me more.

However, how do I address the supplemental essay that says," please tell us from your current and past experiences (either academic or personal) what attracts you specifically to the study of engineering."

Does it make sense to ignore the fact that they ask specifically about engineering and instead write about my strong interest in computer science and math?
