Hi, i know this must be a commonly asked question but approximately what IB Score, SAT 1 and SAT 11 scores should we aim to get in order to meet the requirements?? Thank you :)

hi lifehouse - columbia doesn’t expect any one score. instead they want to see you do as well as possible based on whatever background you are coming from. (they don’t like kids who have a lot of intellect, but slack off. they do like kids who might not be as smart, but really stretch themselves to learn.)

so my preferred answer to your question - what scores should you aim for, I would say the best scores you can get.

if you want numbers to get there - 6 or 7 in most of your IB tests (or predicted IB scores). SAT scores - aim for scores above 700 (in both the general and subject tests). which practically works out to be above a 2100 (or just at Columbia’s 25% mark) is a good place to aim for the SAT I.

and now my cavaet - even if you get these scores columbia might reject you as they reject thousands of students (even some with perfect SAT scores). so please realize that admission is more complex than numbers.

will do, thanks for your help :)
