<p>Looks like there are two emails going out to students on the waitlist – One that says the waitlist has been extended and one that is rejecting some students on the waitlist. Is that a correct assessment?</p>

<p>My daughter was released and that may be for the best. Keeping students on an extended waitlist when classes are full does seem like a big tease.</p>

<p>“In my prior correspondence, I promised you more news concerning your candidacy for Columbia University. As things now stand, we have filled our class and cannot be sure that we will have places to offer any more students.”</p>
<p>Also on the extended waitlist! Here’s another quote:</p>
<p>“Of course, there are no guarantees that there will be any movement, and we must emphasize that the chance that we will be able to offer you a place at Columbia is small, but we are offering you the option of holding on just a little longer. We will continue to keep you up to date on your status through the month of June.”</p>
<p>At least they’re promising to keep us informed.</p>
<p>To waitlisters who have been admitted and already enrolled: Did you receive any info yet about housing, advising, etc? I haven’t gotten anything yet and I’m nervous that I’ve past all the deadlines.</p>
<p>Hey, so on the admitted students site, I just signed up for housing right there. I didn’t get any reminders for it though. Also, I got lots of e-mails about summer advising sessions in my area.</p>

I tried to call once, but they wouldn’t let me talk to my regional rep. They seem really rude over there</p>
<p>or at least just the woman i talked to at the front desk did. However, I called a few months ago before the admissions results even came in, and im sure they were swamped with apps. perhaps ill try to call again sometime in the next few weeks</p>
<p>the july deadline was only for the regular wait list. the extended wait list lasts until the beginning of the school year.</p>
