columbia college!

SATIIs - 730 math IIC, 710 chem, 620 spanish -- but i think they only consider top two?</p>

US gov't 4</p>

<p>GPA: 3.64 UW, 4.40 W
Counselor and teacher recs: pretty strong
Essays: pretty good</p>

<p>Activities:
Soccer - all 4 years, varsity captain senior year and JV captain soph. year, leading scorer (10th and 11th), varsity letter awards (10-11th)</p>

<p>i mentioned on my app that i contacted the coach at columbia and if i got in, i would try-out in the summer... not recruited but im hoping they'll take that into consideration</p>

<p>Newspaper staff - managing news editor and i also edit the spanish page... i won a lot of awards for articles i wrote from various places and i sent in my articles as a supplement</p>

<p>french honors society member (12) , intramural basketball team captain (11 and 12), over 400 hours of community service (tutoring, campaigning, unpaid internship), violin for 10 years... was concert mistress of a regional orchestra</p>

<p>summer internships for the past two years at two different science labs... targeting genes, learning about molecular biology techniques... </p>

<p>Do you go to TJ? ;) Good stats- Columbia (and most other ivy leagues) are such a random thing these days even for ppl with stats like yours because everyone with the top SAT's and GPA's apply to the same 5-8 schools. But with ur stuff, if it's not Columbia, it'll definitely be a top school (plenty of kids who dont get into Columbia end up at HYP and vice versa)~ gl.</p>

<p>i like the strength of success shown in your 3 things (bio/science, violin, soccer). your GPA is a little low though - where does that put you relative to your classmates?</p>
