Has anyone else applied to the 3/2 program at Columbia, or heard back yet? I submitted all my materials, postmarked by March 1st, and am eagerly awaiting to hear back. I'm starting to get nervous, despite having met all the guaranteed admissions criteria. Thanks for any help.

What is the guaranteed admissions criteria?

It's all detailed here.

So the Combined Plan applicants never got to set up a PIN number to use the decision website. I was told by a friend who applied last year that he got his email on this day a year ago, but I guess I can't expect the same. Any combined plan applicants know anything yet?

Also, does Columbia email first year applicants their decisions in addition, or only do it through snail mail and the website? If so, when?

Did Anyone get notice yet?

No, I have not heard yet either.

Patience.....
You'll know by the 15th.

Was accepted on Friday! Found out while squatting on the streets of Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia trying to steal wireless before my train to Zagreb left. That town and those ruins will be memorable for all new reasons now.

hey, I had 2 questions. Does that plan apply only for engineeing? How about Law school? and, I read that columbia will meet 100% of the permanent resident's need, but how about an international student earning the B.A in the US?

Yes, the plan only applies for the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Note that this includes majors such as Applied Math, Applied Physics, and Operations Research (including Financial Engineering), so it's not just the customary Engineering majors. Law School at Columbia has no such shortcut to admissions, I'm afraid.

I'm not sure about your financial aid question. It'd be best to email combinedplan@columbia.edu.

Is admissions into the Combined Plan with FU after 3 years at CC pretty much a garantee, if you hold up good grades and have a decent involvement in school community? Or is it a tough competition?

As long as you have enough of the credits, is it possible to apply for the Combined Plan after just 2 years at CC? (I'm an IB diploma student, so I'll be getting some credits).

yes, no, no

The 4-1 Program at Columbia College (for SEAS students)

The 4-1 Program provides students in the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science the opportunity to obtain a B.A. degree from Columbia College with one additional year of study after completion of four years of study and fulfillment of all requirements for the B.S. degree in engineering. Students apply in the spring of their junior year, but should begin to prepare for the program as soon as possible.

Students who are interested in the 4-1 program should attend an information session on Friday, April 13th from 12:00-1:00pm (location to be determined). Please email Class Dean if you would like to attend or have questions:

I am going to be a freshman at SEAS, is this combined plan available for me or is it just for those in their junior year?

I’m also quite interested in that 3-2 program. Is anyone able to provide me with more info?

Hi guys!

Is there any international 3-2 applicants who got financial aid and got admitted to Columbia? Please let me know!

Thank you!

As far as I know, only Canadian and Mexican citizens are assured financial aid. It says on the website that for foreign students not in the above visa categories: financial aid is granted on a case-by-case basis. Columbia cannot guarantee to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted foreign students and foreign students may be accepted without financial aid.
