Columbia credit for IB?

Hey guys - I just joined and have been encouraged (and gotten a few good laughs from) all your ED posts. I too...was deferred -_- (whatev.) but would still like some motivation to continue to do well for the schoolyear. So, in short:

Does Columbia award credit/consider for the IB Diploma as a whole (since even the diploma is labelled with an overall score) or do they ONLY give IB credit for 5 and above on the IB exam for HL classes?

they only give credit for 6 or above in an IB HL exam

but for admission the IB is considered a rigorous curriculum... thats the only way it'll help u

I thought it was 5

if you get a 6 or a 7 in HL you get 6 points of columbia credit - equivalent of 2 classes. Your credits are capped at 16, I deserved more than 16, but mine was capped at that, 16 credits is approximately a semester of credit.

if you take those credits, willl you suffer in the next level course cuz you don't know as much as those who did take those courses? or does IB prepare you enough

Wow so no matter how well I do - they won't give me more than 16 credits? And the IB Diploma doesn't count for anything as a whole entity - they only consider your grades on the HL exams? Sheesh... :)

what is your ib score...also what is the average ib score you hear of people getting?
