Have any of you guys been reading the decisions thread on the columbia forum. It’s downright scary…barely any acceptances. A huge majority were deferred.

yes. if you actually count the number of decision threads. that's the number of acceptees.
every single one who got in is making their own egotistical thread
.... totals to 5 decision threads

yeah .. but then again if u think about it.. in reality how many of them were going to be accepted, def, rej in the first place? app 1/5 theoretically gets accepted

well Columbia doesn't accept as many people as Penn does....

Hopefully we'll turn out better...

knock on wood...

I don't know...Penn and Columbia's early acceptance rates are pretty similar, but there's definitely not a 30% acceptance rate for the cc kids who have posted so far in those decision threads. I mean, I don't know, maybe the general applicant pool is more competetive there and of course the schools are going to be looking for different things, but it's just scary...the reality is that a lot of seemingly incredibly qualified applicants are going to be deferred or rejected.

wharton sure as hell accepts a smaller % than columbia - negative thoughts have consumed my mind! i heard people who go to columbia turn out to be failures in life

lol.

I really need to get in. Please Please please.

I'm so nervous now...

i wonder if i can outpost chocoman before decisions... i live in utah so i find out at one in the library at school. My planned response after my rejection/deferral "F&*^" *throws a chair, drives straight to vegas

It's not humanly possible to outpost Choco. Just don't even try.

Yeah, I don't think there's 1400 minutes left until decisions anyway...

i see bad omens, my mom dreamt that i had more college stuff to do, i dreamt that penn told me that i was borderline

I want an omen! well mabye I got one but I can't tell if it was good or bad. Anyway, the Columbia results have been discouraging so far to say the least.

Good luck guys!

Both people who applied Early to Columbia from my school got in... how interesting considering the pool was supposedly really tough this yr

I just wanted to wish you all good luck with your decisions. I feel a bit shocked after reading the columbia boards, and I hope you guys fare better. Best regards~from the junior.

may god help us!

I hope Penn's decisions atleast make sense. Did you see some of the people getting rejected? I really thought they would get in, and I have no idea how some of the people that did get in were accepted. Expect the worst and you can only be happy.
<3 a columbia deferree and regular Penn applicant

Yeah, daria. College admissions is scary..

and everyone's expecting me to get in.... ahhhh....
