columbia/duke/dartmouth

and the wildcard penn (waitlisted)

I'm interested in studying business and film.

Which school would you recommend? I want to be able to have a social life while going to the best place that can educate me in those fields.

I need some help. Thanks.

Well, presuming you applied to Wharton at Penn, that wildcard would obviously be your best bet (and overwhelmingly so). Of course, coming from a fellow Penn waitlistee, there's probably not much to count on in that image.

I looked into business myself, and while I didn't glance at Columbia at all (not a fan of NYC), I did apply to Duke & Dartmouth. Of the two, I'd say Duke may be stronger undergrad in business--it offers a new BS in Economics, which, according to my dad (a Wharton-grad himself) is very impressive, and means that more businesses are going to be looking at Duke as this first graduating class of BS in Econ majors graduate.

Either way, though, are you planning on going to business school? If so, I've actually heard that it's a good thing to study something completely different than business undergrad, and then focus on business in graduate school.

cas at penn actually. and yeah right now im planning on business school

Duke has a surprisingly decent film department, and the Center for Documentary Studies is very close to East Campus.

I knew someone studying German and film at Dartmouth who loved the program there. Both are good for what you want to do; I'd pick based on other factors like location. Dartmouth has a smaller feel and is more rural, if that appeals to you.
