<p>i just found out my third teacher rec about my teacher using the book i wrote in her cirriculum next year did not go through and i kind of want to cry… AHHHH</p>
<p>also, this is a terrible question, but does writing a book even increase chances of getting into a school as amazing as columbia if my gpa and sat scores are mediocre, but in my application, my passion is clearly for writing?</p>

<p>@kauaiwai: Did you write a book or was one of your books published by an established, for profit, publishing company? There is a BIG difference. I’m sure you’ll agree.</p>
<p>You say “mediocre” GPA and scores. Whatever that means, very few ECs can trump a non-spectacular academic record.</p>

<p>I just came across this link: <a href=“https://undergrad.admissions.columbia.edu/welcome/login?destination=node/1[/url]”>https://undergrad.admissions.columbia.edu/welcome/login?destination=node/1</a> that is supposed to be a welcome message for admitted students. I tried putting in my Columbia ID and DOB in, but it didn’t read it. That either means that the system hasn’t been updated yet or that I’ve been deferred or denied. It would be great if all of you could try to login yourselves - then perhaps, we’ll find out if this will actually know our decisions or not!</p>

<p>Haha, guys, while I’m calming down my nerves a bit since no one can login, we can’t know for sure until more people can’t login. If anyone can, then naturally the rest of us haven’t got in.
