Can everyone still log in to their online tracker thing? Will they be taking that down today?

@dlafklm The application tracker page says that today is the last day its up, so probably. Does anyone know how to get access the Columbia portal, or have they not given anyone access yet?

@dlafklm I can still log in, but from what I have heard you’re right in that it will be taken down by tomorrow.

I was also rejected from Questbridge last year before even becoming a finalist, but I got into Columbia ED anyways!
What Questbridge looks for in a student isn’t necessarily what Columbia looks for, so don’t be discouraged.

congrats on everyone getting a likely letter… if you didnt get one, does that mean that you wont be accepted?

are likely letters only for athletes?

does columbia send out likely letters to non-athletes for early decision?

@misslanette i know yale sends out several likely letters to non-athletes during regular decision but i’m not familiar with any other school’s policies for early or regular admissions

Well technically wouldn’t any mention of acceptance before the 11th be a sort of likely letter? As far as I’m aware Columbia is prohibited to officially offer admission until Dec. 11th because of Ivy League regulations.

So if that’s true, yes, all positive early notifications of admission before the designated date, to athletes, QB Match students, and any others would be likely letters

but if we didnt get it… we still have a chance right?

Of course. Until they explicitly say “no” (or “we are sorry to inform you…”) I assume you have a chance

@dlafklm @reecie569 My application status page still says that I should only be able to check my status until Dec. 4th, so who knowns when it’ll actually be taken down haha. Where did you all see that it would be taken down on the 7th?

@prospie15 I heard it from past posts in this forum, claiming that it was somewhere on the website. It’s strange though, I don’t know why they extended it! It’s terrifying, this whole process haha

@misslanette From what I’ve heard and read, likely letters only go out to about 10% of admitted students. Columbia sends them to anyone who they think might commit elsewhere, like an athlete who might be getting huge scholarship offers from other D1 schools.

@reecie569 oh okay cool. But yeah, terrifying is starting to become an understatement–and to think how confident I was when I first submitted my app! lol… I’ve recently been feeling less optimistic ¯_(ツ)_/¯

@prospie15 I’m probably in a worse state, considering I haven’t felt conconfident about my application since I pressed “Sumbit” haha. But there’s not much else to do, so I’ll just buckle up and keep my limbs under control during this emotional roller coaster ride for which colleges charged me $85 each.

so 90% of the admitted students dont get likely letters?

@misslanette Don’t worry about likely letters. All that matters is what you see on Thursday…

thanks everyone for the support <3!
