Columbia ED Class of 2019

i will take SAT subject test too.it will be my 2nd sitting.Good luck dont worry be happy

I’m from Italy and I think I’m applying ED!

Hi all, I’m an ED member of the Columbia College Class of 2016. This is my first foray onto CC in over two years – just felt a bit of nostalgia for the ED application process. I wish the best of luck to all applying for a spot in the Class of 2019. I encourage you to really express yourself in your essays and your “soft” application materials – during ED rounds, those things matter most, since you will be forming the “core” of your college class. I didn’t have perfect grades nor a >2300 SAT score, but I believe I earned admission through the strength of my essay and recommendations and such. Certainly in Columbia’s case (as far as my experience goes), the admissions office is looking for people who desire to do big things and aren’t afraid of placing themselves in NYC. Express that you are a go-getter, a curious academic, and someone who will strive to bring glory to one of the best institutions of learning in the world.

So in the earlier comments someone said that a B or C grade is generally accepted by colleges. Iv’e gotten all A’s in every AP/Honors course but my ACT score is not the best. Would having really good grades sort of overshadow my low ACT score?

^^ Not having standardized test scores that support your grades might call into question the rigor of your school. Aim to raise that ACT score up if you still can. Best of luck!

Applying ED from Singapore! (I’m Indonesian by citizenship)

Hey everyone! I’m pretty set on Columbia ED. I visited the first week of August and even though I got incredibly sick (spent half the info session and half the tour puking in the Columbia University library) it’s still my first choice. Good luck everyone!

@wilguen‌ I think the fact that you’re still into Columbia after having that experience shows real dedication!

I want to apply to Columbia ED but I am an international student (my SAT scores aren’t the best).
How much harder is it for international students to get in?

So my parents want me to apply Colu

Oops hit send early.
My parents want me to apply to Columbia ED, but I’m still super set on Princeton. I also doubt I’ll get in anywhere, so maybe i should pick an easier Ivy like Cornell.

It really depends on your major before claiming one is easier than the next. My son visited all 3 and has decided to go ED with Columbia.

So after 3 “Why Columbia” rewrites and 2 common app essay rewrites, I have finally submitted my ED application to Columbia University. I am proud of what I’ve written and accomplished, but I am nervous at the same time. I hope the admissions officers will see something in me. I love CU!

Submitted my app yesterday as well! Now I don’t know what to do with myself for the next 6 weeks….

@hopeful543‌ Is there anything any of us could do besides playing the infamous waiting game?

Yes, other apps.

Hey, I am just interested…which major did you choose?

@minminminmin
I chose French and Francophone Studies and Education
I want to concentrate in Italian too

@ilovethecity that’s cool, I have seen only few applicants with major in foreign studies))
