Thing about Columbia is that they care a LOT about your essays: work on them. A lot. Make that good an amazing. Otherwise, your stats are pretty great, especially the international banking competition and volunteering. I don’t know how seeking financial aid as an international student will be, but I believe Columbia’s one of the more flexible schools with this.

At this level, admissions are unpredictable. Columbia with financial aid for internationals is 1 in 20.
Furthermore, as per your other thread, two of your subject tests won’t be counted (German and Spanish) so you’d need to take another one.

i don’t need two subject tests, I’ve done ACT.
why 1 out of 20?
i think i have an advantage because i’m from europe, since most intl applicant come from china, india, pakistan and they want diversity.

1 out of 20 because regular odds without financial aid are 1 in 10, and that’s not even factoring ED which increases the “appearance” of the odds , not factoring legacy status, etc so “real” odds are lower… and typically you should half the general odds to have a rough estimate of your odds as an international who needs financial aid. Other factors may increase (ED, “hook”, national/international award) or decrease those odds (how much aid you need, how better other applicants may be, etc), but that should be your rough basis.

Hey @alexbcn. I’m EDing to Columbia too(and for the same course, can you imagine the odds?)! From New Delhi, India. Your stats are really strong, and we have some similarities in co-currics(hardcore MUNer right here ). However, as some people here have correctly pointed out, your asking for aid(as an international applicant, in particular), could possibly be a downside. As it is, the pool is really competitive.
I’d still say that you’ve a really great shot if you write really convincing and passionate essays.
