Hey guys, I just got an email that I am being considered for the Egleston Scholarship for Engineering. I also got a LL earlier today. This sounds like a cool scholarship; does anyone know roughly what percentage of students who receive this email/are candidates for Egleston ultimately receive it? Thanks!
@trashnastygaming Dont know specific numbers but it is not a big percentage at all. Since you got a likely letter there is prob a good chance you will get it though. I think the tippy top students who will also very likely get into HYPSM usually receive likely letters and this scholarship.
Not many get it but it’s not really the biggest deal. I’m not an Egelston Scholar (I’m a Kluge Scholar which is part of the same program). Most students that aren’t chosen don’t even know about the program so if you were told you were being considered, you’re almost guaranteed to get it. There are some perks: really nice academic advisors, a speaker series and access to a lot of extra supplemental grants. However, it isn’t really much more that an extra temptation for student to enroll.
Also fwiw, I didn’t get into any of HYPSM.
