Columbia Engineering Experience 2016

@neoking I got accepted to!

35 ACT, 3.85 GPA, 5 Chem, 5 Calc BC, 5 Physics C mechanics, 5 psychology, 5 Lang, 4 physics c e&m, 4 apush, 4 stats, 800 math 2.

Founder of few clubs, president of a club, work for senator, research at uchicago.

My family isn’t low income and don’t really fill URM category at all. My rejection letter said that my stats make me “highly qualified for the undergraduate engineering school.” Don’t stress if you didn’t get in. I did get the fee waiver.

Waitlist decisions finalized today! I didn’t get in, but hope you all have a good time!

@Helianthium Aww, I didn’t get in either. :frowning: Congrats to everyone who did though! <3

@Helianthium @pickletickler

Did everyone get this paragraph?

“Please note that this notification has no influence on your admissions decision should you choose to apply to Columbia Engineering. Last year, a number of students with strengths like yours were admitted to Columbia Engineering, under both our Early Decision and Regular Decision plans, even after not being selected for participation in the Columbia Engineering Experience.”.

I’m not sure if it’s true or they just sent it to literally everyone who got rejected

Females with great stats have a reasonable shot for Columbia Engineering.

@amandanee1 I’m sure it’s true! Same thing for every fly-in. Not only could your application not represent you fully as a person, but they have institutional priorities to fulfill at fly-ins, such as making sure it’s geographically, racially, and culturally diverse. If Columbia is your top choice and you got waitlisted/rejected, you definitely still have a chance!
