Columbia Engineering Experience

yeah theres gonna be 50 kids

hey guys im new here. but anyways, I got accepted as well!! im so excited, yeah new york city!!! how many people applied? and does anyone feel bad about missing TWO days of school?

and is anyone from colorado

well i don’t feel so bad about missing two seeing as i just missed FIVE! Swine Flue is a ***** lol

Does anybody think attending this will help our chances at admissions to CC or Fu?

i was wondering the same thing. that would be nice though on account of columbia’s acceptance rate in general is extremely low. im excited, i really love there campus:) im surprised more people haven’t posted their acceptance…

I don’t think it can hurt our chances, but it probably would increase them to a “very likely” candidate.

Did anyone book their travel arrangements yet? The travel agency is closed on weekends… Does Columbia pay for flight transportation as well?

Yeah Columbia pays for everything. I’m pretty sure they even pay for cab/car fare to and from the airport. I called today too but yeah they were closed

Hey guys! Congrats on the acceptance! Where’s everyone from? Let’s make a list.

I think attendence to this program will help by showing interest in Columbia, and I guess it shows that those who are accepted are considered competitive candidates.

So what are you guys planning to bring? Any suggestions for those of you who have done this sort of thing before?

I haven’t even thought about what I should bring lol. Just your reg. overnight stuff I’m guessing. Oh and prob. a good bit of money. I don’t know about you guys but we’re gonna be in NYC w/o parents for 3 days! wohooo! sooo i’m definitely trying to have a good time!

yeah, no idea what to bring

just out of curiosity, how many people do you think applied for this program? because, well, does anyone find it weird that everyone who posted on here about applying the program was accepted. feelings on that?

well honestly the people who write on these forums probably wouldn’t be considered the “average” applicant. From experience I know that CC posters are usually a little bit more intense so that probably shows through applications as well. Just my thought. But only about five people on here actually replied that they got in…and 50 were accepted.

This was also an invitation only program, so that eliminates a good portion of potential candidates. And it was limited to URM’s.

@adas: which school are u going to?

those were good points and i wasn’t trying to descredit anyone. i was simply curious. and what do you mean by what school? right now i go to a school in colorado but i will be applying to columbia, cornell, and brown. as my ivies.

do you mean which school in columbia. because i think i will be applying to the fu foundation.
