Does anyone have any opinions on columbia's engineering college. Is it as respected as some of their other programs.

Columbia has a terrific engineering school (Fu Foundation). They are ranked 27th by US News among undergraduate engineering programs at universities that grant doctoral degrees. I believe their strength is in engineering applications of computational math. They have the usual engineering disciplines of Chem, Mech, Electrical, Industrial, Civil plus Biomedical and "Earth and Environmental" engineering. They also have something called "financial engineering", computer science, and applied physics.

You get great engineering education plus the ambience of an Ivy League university located in the city that never sleeps.

I am not a student at Columbia engineering, but I have heard good things about it.

Unless you plan on going into the financial sector or if you MUST be in the city, you can do better.
