I am an international student. I was wondering if Columbia accepts fee waiver requests from international students living outside the US. I read up their website but they write very little about fee waivers. They just say that that a school counselor needs to apply for it and thats it.

So I was wondering whether international students are eligible for fee waivers.

Yes, I plan to call them, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this. Surely, I am not the first person to have this question in mind?

I applied for a fee waiver too. My guidance councilor faxed them a letter suggesting that paying this fee would cause financial hardship, yata yata.

My friend who applied for fee waivers last year to all his colleges (not Columbia though) did the same thing as me and he told me that if they reply and tell you that they don’t accept it, they do not think you need a fee waiver and won’t accept it. They do, in general, accept fee waivers.

@CCenigma I am applaying to Columbia this year as an international student and I am also interested in application fee waiver. I would be realy gratefull if you could tell me how did you solve this matter. I mean did you apply for application fee waiver? How? And was it granted?
