My GPA/rank is still suffering from poor freshman year grades (overall around a 3.3 weighted) but my grades in Sophmore and Junior years have been signficantly better and my unweighted between the two is around a 4.2 weighted. I take mostly honors and AP courses, and am even self-studying some APs. I plan to take about 5-7 APs next year. I have several film related ECs and got a 2100 on my SATs (plan to retake and get higher). I dont know my exact rank, but I am somewhere in the top 25%. What do I have to do to get into Columbia as a film major?

the film school (which, i think is actually part of the grad school of arts and sciences) is a graduate program. to major in film as an undergrad you would just apply to columbia college, and saying you're a film major as opposed to english or biology wont give you any edge since they know you might change your mind.
it sounds like columbia is a reach for you but not a completely out of the question reach.. hopefully you have really strong ecs and a well-written, interesting essay.
