What’s Columbia Fu Foundation? Is it what I think it is (which is really, really wrong. I mean, F U…)?

Anyways, I’m not too familiar with this foundation. Assuming it’s part of Columbia U, I’d say it’s a high reach with your lack of ECs. This wouldn’t normally be too much of a problem, but are you devoted and focused in your two ECs? SAT scores are fine for basically all colleges. GPA is good and rank is excellent. Two bad things are your ORM and international status, so don’t expect too much of a miracle in RD. Sorry for being harsh.

^it’s the school for engineering and sciences (SEAS)

and to be honest, I don’t think you have a very good chance of getting in. Have you done anything related to sciences/engineering that is NOT generic?

^i’ve done nothing particular related to sciences/engineering but i’m in school’s science club and we’ve came first places in many provincial science competitions.

thanks for your reply :)

Yeah the things going against you are your international status, and maybe leadership roles? What’s your intended major at Columbia Fu Foundation? I’m applying there as well.

Chance me back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1024829-chance-me-competitive-schools.html

It looks tough with your situation.

sat 2 scores?

^Oh yeah similarly, you’ll need to submit a Physics or Chemistry SAT II for the Fu Foundation. Have you taken either of them yet?

^sorry yes i have, i’ll change the info now, thank you!

SAT II: Physics: 790 Math II: 800 Chemistry: 770
also, i’m planning on submitting a couple piano songs, including the ones that i transcribed, as supplementary materials

THANKS FOR REPLYING!! :)

I really don’t think piano songs will get you into a science-oriented college. You’re a good student, but so is everyone else. With those nice SATII scores, you still don’t have a signicant increase in your chances because let’s face it, SATII scores count for like… 1% of the admissions process? Maybe not even 1% at some schools.

It seems to me that Columbia is way out of your reach and it’d be best not to put all your hopes onto getting admitted. I know it might be your dream school and it’s hard for you to accept this, but it’s just statistics. You might feel like the 10% acceptance rate means you have a 1 in 10 shot of getting in, but Columbia doesn’t just randomly select students.

bump ~ 10 char

I dunno much about colubia … Ur sat scores seem fine but u r EC s may let u down…
