My application file (including the essay, recommendation letters etc) was completed on the 28th of May and I haven’t received a decision yet. I contacted the Office of Admissions who said:
‘Please note that your file seems to be complete at this time and it has been pushed to be reviewed by our Admissions Committee. Once a decision has been made, you will be notified by email to check your application status page.’
They also say on their website that applicants who apply by June 1st will receive a decision on a rolling basis on or before the 20th of July. So I don’t think there’s reason to lose hope before the 20th. The 80 USD application fee that we paid ensures we have to receive some kind of decision. There’s no reason to think the worst until you have a concrete reason to. I hope all of us receive a positive decision soon and I hope I’ll be able to meet you in person!
If the student population is 2100, that would mean 525 acceptances per year. I read somewhere that out of around 600 people who applied to GS, 200 were accepted. The 2100 probably includes students in the joint degree programs with Sciences Po, CityU of Hong Kong and the Jewish Theological Seminary. Oh, and the Postbacc Pre-Med Program
I’m pretty sure your transcripts can be unofficial for the application. You just have to submit officials if you get admitted. For test score reports and other documents, I think they have to be official.
I got an email earlier today and I was accepted! I have a 3.92 GPA and I am a history major. I already SIR’d to UCLA, but I am seriously considering Columbia GS. Does anyone have an opinion on what school I should attend?
@columbiaugshopeful June 1st. I was notified by email. But I reached out to them first. Im not sure if that influences their final decision. Either way, you have about a week left. My academic record wasn’t stellar either. I’m sure you’re all good.
That’s weird because I haven’t heard back yet despite applying on the 28th of May and emailing. Speculation doesn’t help any, I guess. Thanks for clarifying, @Catalystsnstars and I’m sure you’ll do incredible things wherever you go.
Congrats! I suggest you to make an appointment with an academic counselor ASAP to discuss further details regarding classes and credits transfer(if you are a transfer student). See you in NYC
Hey guys pretty concerned right now, I submitted all my documents on May 30th and still haven’t heard anything back. An admissions rep two weeks ago told me I’d have a decision by 7/15 but I highly doubt they send out decisions on weekends. Any ideas on what might be going on?
Does anyone know if it’s possible to know which credits will trafer before the APS day? (As this will affect my scholarship and possibility of deferral if I have to).
