Columbia GS Fall 2018 Early/Regular Decision

@Locale1776 yes same here. I can’t change the info there. Does that mean anything?

@jc0611 I’m not sure. It’s a behind a login so it might mean something?

@jc0611 Out of curiosity, are you applying as a transfer?

@Locale1776 I really hope that’s a good sign. But I guess it’s simply because we are already logged in to our status check and doesn’t mean anything significant. yes I’m applying as a transfer.

We will see! @jc0611

Anyone get accepted but not see a red X for spring grades on their portal? for those who did see the red X, how long before you received your acceptence did the red X appear?

Hey everyone. I’m still waiting to hear back too; all while growing more and more anxious with every waking second. I applied as a transfer student, but they haven’t placed any red flags or anything next to the checklist. GPA past two years is 3.9, I am fairly proud of the essay I wrote. I got everything in on time, but I see the date listed next to my HS transcript has been changed to reflect a date after the 3/1 deadline, when it had previously said they received it in Feb. Praying (figuratively) that this doesn’t delay my acceptance or denial. Hoping for the best, planning for the worst. I’ve never wanted anything more in my life. To those of you who have been accepted, first: congrats! Second: how were you notified? Email, phoned, or was a decision posted to the application portal?

@ohmygodsayyes your stats look quite good. I’m worried because my GPA is not that high as yours. I read so many postings from past years’ thread and it seems those with high GPA definitely have much better chance and most of them got in. I guess GPA is the most important factor. right? I don’t think they will simply deny you just because of some delay of supplementary document and worst case scenario - they will put you in the next pool.

3.82 here around 60 semester units

@ohmygodsayyes I was notified by e-mail that a status update had been posted to my application portal. I’m wishing you all the best! Don’t lose hope yet!

I applied and submitted all documents 4/18. Do you guys know when I should expect to hear back from Columbia with a decision?

Has anyone here been accepted that did not apply as a transfer?

@incogneato It seems that status updates come at 5:00 pm EST. Was this true for you?

@Locale1776 Yes! I got my e-mail 5:15pm yesterday.

@incogneato when did you apply to Columbia? Also, when did you notice the change in your materials submitted (the red x)?

@pablorodriguez5 I submitted my application on 2/28 with all materials in prior to that date. I didn’t notice any change in my portal until I received the e-mail stating that there had been a status update. (I had checked a couple of times before 5pm yesterday!)

@incogneato Oh I see! Congratulations, by the way. I can’t even imagine how you must be feeling right now! I got rejected by ucla yesterday so I’m not feeling very optimistic about gs accepting me lol

I guess they send out the acceptance letter first before or around 5/1 and then send out the rejection after that…it’s so sad that this brutal waiting will continue for a week just to find out the rejection letter. I’m trying to think positive but it’s really hard …

@pablorodriguez5 I feel your pain bro I got rejected from UCLA yesterday with a 3.88GPA and Honors TAP Certification so I’m not feeling so confident about Columbia any more or CAL tomorrow lol Good luck bro

@GoldenState1 I’m sorry to hear that. Apparently their rate of acceptance for transfer students dropped significantly compared to last year. Good luck to you too! Hope you get into your other schools of choice!
