Columbia GS Fall 2021 Early/Regular Decision Thread

So my first time at college I didn’t do well no point in sharing that which is why I thought they wouldn’t accept me. Now I have a 4.0 GPA in community college, in the Honors program within my school and a Phi Theta Kappa member…also took a bunch of honors classes in high school with a 3.6/3.7 GPA. I also am a figure skater for Team USA so I added that in for extracurriculars and my essay. I feel like my essay def helped me.

Congrats to everyone that got in!
To the ones that didn’t I hope you do better the next time!
Anyone would mind sharing their stats (even if you weren’t accepted)?
Also @AshleyF145 you can schedule an appointment and go through your application with a counselor and get feedback! :slight_smile:

Thank you for sharing! You have such amazing accomplishments. Very happy for you. Still waiting on a decision here and am anxious to know. The suspense is killing me :joy:

Thank you so much! And I totally understand I could barely sleep the last few days I just wanted to know lol…hopefully you’ll find out soon!!

Hey guys,
Did you all receive emails about your application being reviewed? I still have a red line above mine saying that it will move to the review process automatically, once I submit all the documents. I submitted everything back in January and I’m now worried they didn’t even move to the review process. Does anyone else have the red line after submitting everything?

@savpal

Mine says the same thing. The last email I got was this:

Please note that since your application was not complete by January 15, it is not guaranteed you will receive a decision by March 1.

When did u submit your application??

Good luck to all of those individual who had an interview on March 2nd. There’s a high chance you’ll get your decision today (refering to spring 2021 and Fall 2020 thread).

I received a non-stock email a couple of weeks after I submitted my application stating:

“Please note that your file seems to be complete at this time and it has been pushed to be reviewed by our Admissions Committee.

Once a decision has been made you will be notified by email to check your application status page.”

I received this on Feb 10th and only because I sent an email inquiring about something else. The email did not mention a date in which I should expect a decision. I do, however, have an appointment with the admissions office today to inquire about the status of my application.

ps. Yes, I still have that red line in my application status page.

Accepted :slight_smile:

I submitted 15th of January, although some of the recommendations were a little late. I sent an email to them but they didn’t get back to me yet.

I suppose you must’ve received the email because you sent an inquiry. I’m curious if they will reply to me in the same manner. Good to know I’m not the only one seeing the red line, thanks! I suppose that at this point we can only wait and see

Yeah, I think they’re swamped and according to the last email I received, they’re still working remotely. I sent that inquiry on January 28 and did not get a response until February 10.

@savpal

Hi , according to the last email I got yesterday after sending an enquiry, it looks like our applications have been moved to early action round, and they have not been reviewed yet. Unfortunately we must wait more likely until 1st May.

Best of luck to everyone!

Maybe it wasn’t the right time, so let’s keep our hopes up for the next round of decisions!

Congrats! Have you heard anything about when we’ll see how our credits will transfer over? Haven’t heard back yet, curious if I’m missing anything.

Yeah, received an email from Evangelyn Diaz confirming that my application was received January 19 for Early Action and will receive a decision by or before May 1st. It’s gonna be a long 2 months. :scream: But no use in stressing about it so I’m just gonna play Witcher 3 again, that should pass the time :rofl:

Thanks, you too! I think we have to follow the steps on the Admitted Students Portal so we can speak to an advisor and figure that stuff out. I made an appointment with an admissions officer to confirm but that seems like the only thing to do at the moment.

Hi everyone-

I just received a bomb job offer that could potentially change my life. Columbia is my #1 priority and I would turn the offer down if I was accepted. Does anyone have any idea what I can do in regards to expedited admissions answers/will this affect my admission?

WHY IS ADULT LIFE SO HARD.

Thanks much in advance for any and all insight.

Just wanted to give an update as I think I’m the only one who has posted and gone thru the interview process. I was extremely nervous for the interview but it wasn’t too bad at all. Kinda just asked to share about my previous struggles and why my HS transcripts were so terrible. Just received word I got accepted today by email and was interviewed on March 2nd. Applied priority early action. Congrats to all who have been accepted and good luck to all still waiting!

Congrats :tada: and thanks for sharing!

Hi guys, I am an early action applicant (March 1). The most recent email I have received was about the CUID. According to previous posts, I read, am I supposed to get an email that says your applicant is moved to be reviewed? My application is complete with all required documents. Thanks.
