Columbia HEOP CLASS OF 2019

hi, this is for everyone applying to Columbia through heop to post ur stats and everything.
I just would like to know if you guys started getting interview invites??
Thanks guys & good luck !

@itssha3 I am pretty sure there are no interviews. you will simply be told when decision comes out

@elclassico‌ okay thanks!

I’m hoping I get accepted, I didn’t get any interview.
My weighted GPA is a 93
My SAT is a 1800
I joined many clubs and sports.

I’m so nervous.

Same, no interview ! I’m not sure if its required.

Did anyone hear anything yet?

I’m sooo nervous. OMG

How many people do you guys will get accepted into HEOP? what’s the testing and GPA requirement?

@TripleAAA I’m curious about the same…but as far as I know, Columbia admissions decides on whether or not an applicant is eligible for HEOP/NOP based on academic credentials. I don’t know for sure if there’s an exact cut-off.

@GenerationHope‌ thank you good luck tomorrow!

@TripleAAA‌ Aw, you too! God bless

Good luck to everyone…
I know for HEOP, a student applicant must meet the economic guidelines and also acedemic as well. meaning your household Income cannot exceed a certain amount, ando you must be inaccessible through the regular admissions process.
Although I know my chances of getting in Columbia are very slim, due to the nature of number of applicants, making it more competitive.
I Do Know That I meet the Economic Guidelines for consideration into HEOP.

I also had a interview in February With a alumni Co mitten Member, and it was very interesting, it was not for HEOP, I was like a personal intervoew, to get to know more about the applicant.

My GPA: 84.8
SAT: 880 (CR+M), 1320 in total. I know very low, and I am not proud of them. There were many personal and financil circumstances while my scores are the low, I know I could of received a higher score.

SAT Subject Tests:
Literature: 380
U.S History: 460
World History: 480

I am currently taking AP Government and Politics and AP Bio

I am part of the student govenrment, as a advisory senator.

I am very passionate in history and politics, I love the debates, dicussions, the readings, etc.
I read the New York Times Daily, The Daily News, watch tons of history documentaries, am open minded, love to read and write to.

I hope everyone the best of luck, and although my chances are very slim, hope is a very powerful tool,

Hey guys did any of you get accepted for heop at Columbia?

Hi
what are my chances of getting into columbia or cornell heop?
Stats:
UW Gpa: 3.6 (in my school only like 2 ppl get a 4.0. I did not do well in freshman year coz of family issues but in soph and junior yr i did alot better. Also in context of my school the average accepted students for regular decision (not heop) into both columbia and cornell was a 93 and i have a 91.)
ACT: 31
SAT 2: US History: 720. Math Level 1: 700
2 APs (my school has very limited APs only 5)+ 4 Dual Enrollment Classes
Hooks: low income, First gen

*My ECs are not that impressive because I have many responsibilities at home so very little time for activities (family and financial hardships). I did volunteer like 500 hours though, debate team, did research with college professor and joined the Robotics team at a local community college, etc.
