On collegeboard.com and columbia's website, it says they are both in need of a noncustodial parent's statement. Does this mean on collegeboard.com's website where it says a college needs a "noncustodial parent's statement" they are talking about the css? Or is it a seperate document where you need to fill out an extra piece of paper?

The CSS Profile is the name for the overall proces/requirements. ONE component of that process, for applicant’s whose natural parents don’t live together, is the requirement of the NCP (Non custodial profile). I think that’s what it’s called. The parent that you do NOT live with is also required to complete THEIR financial data. There is information given to you when you complete the CSS Profile, that tells you how to go about that. You give the other person a website/link, and they have their OWN pin type number, and THEY have to also complete THEIR data.

Good luck.

Oh thanks! But my other question is that on collegeboard’s college profiles, where they list finaid, admissions, sat scores etc. etc. under the FinAid section, some say “Noncustodial Parent’s Statement” and I was simply wondering if this was the CSS Noncustodial or a Noncustodial from the college itself?

I can’t answer your particular question but… are you doing IDOC for Columbia?

[Apply For Aid | Columbia University Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid and Educational Financing](Apply for Aid | Columbia Financial Aid and Educational Financing)

Because they state that they don’t use IDOC (but they still do use the CSS Profile).
