Columbia interview in 14 hours!!!!!!

I need a refresher on the highlights of Columbia University. For my interview, I plan on talking about how much I liked the core curriculum, campus size, and location in NYC. If anyone can expand on certain special features of the college that would be much appreciated. Oh! And this is purely mutualism...I may not know a whole lot but feel free to post your own questions about Columbia; we need all the help we can get with Columbia!

Humm.. seeing your post here compelled me to register...

I think you want to highlight other aspects that interest you in your area of study as well. When a Columbia representative visited my school, they recommended answering the "Why Columbia" question with something besides Columbia's core curriculum and location in New York.

I don't know if you applied to Columbia College or the Fu Foundation...

I got into Columbia's SEAS for early decision, and for my interviewer I specifically talked about SEAS's opportunities for undergraduate research. There were some videos on the Columbia website that sparked my interest: assistant professors and professors talking about how even freshman undergraduates can help with their research as long as they take the initiative to ask. Also, I read a bit about their pre-professional courses for engineering, stuff that's supposed to help introduce you to the basic practical applications of engineering in your field. So I liked that a lot and mentioned it too. So maybe that might help you if you applied to SEAS.

Basically.. poking around the Columbia website really helped me learn a lot more about the school...and I would recommend you do it to see if you really love the school or not.. not just to impress your interviewer with specifics.

bye

my interview for SEAS was I guess not the norm. We talked about Columbia for like 5 minutes. The rest of it was politics, the Eagles, and other sports.

Thank you Algernon and AllPhillyFan!!! And I am applying Fu Foundation. By the way, I just updated my profile. If anyone is bored as hell, feel free to play the admissions game and rate my chances of getting in.
