Columbia Interview Questions

Hi, my interview is coming up, and I have a few questions that might seem obvious, but this will be my first interview, and this is my first-choice school, so I just want to make sure the basic parts go smoothly :)

Since the interview is at a Starbucks, I plan on arriving about 5 minutes early and ordering a drink. However, should I wait until the interviewer arrives before I order? Or at least until I meet up with her since she might be there first?

I'm not sure how to appropriately wear my hair. It is waist-long, and I typically keep it down, pulled to one side, sometimes behind my ears. Is this alright, or should I tie it up? It is too long for a bun.

Thank you for your help!

1) Arrive, look around for the alumna. If you spot her, go introduce yourself. If you want a drink, excuse yourself and get one. She may or may not offer to get it for you, may or may not accompany you and get one herself. If she’s not there, grab your drink and find a good spot to sit & wait. If she wants a drink, she’ll take care of herself.

2) clueless! Coffee-etiquette, yes. Hair advice, nothing for you!

Best of luck
