Can you be denied an interview because you know the interviewer?

Unless you live somewhere in the middle of nowhere, there's going to be multiple interviewers in your area. If the interviewer knows you, he'll likely "recuse" himself and have another alum interview you.

When you are contacted for an interview through email is it just a generic email they send to all applicants or does the interviewer have your name already?

I just had mine today! It was a lot of fun, my interviewer was very young (CC '03), we had a lot in common and her office was literally 3 blocks from where I intern, we had a lot in common and she told me about her experience studying abroad, and I asked her about her favorite classes, etc... It was definitely fun and relax and I did bring a resume with me but it definitely wasn't necessary... Even though this was my first college interview I just recommend that you relax and try to have fun with it :)

I hope this wasn't answered previously somewhere else, but how much does an alumni interviewer know about the prosepective students whom they are interviewing?

It's been asked and answered, but basically the info on Part I is what they know.

They have your name. Whether they want to call you, send a personalized email, or send a generic email to all their interviewees is up to the interviewer.

I was contacted for an interview on 2/10/2009. I replied back immediately... since then, I haven't heard anything back. Is this a bad thing?
