Wat does this mean?

The first-year and transfer classes for 2006 are currently full. We were only able to offer admission to an extremely small number of students (less than 2 dozen) holding a space on our waitlist this year. The vast majority of students holding a space on the first-year and transfer waitlists were released on Friday, June 2. The small number of students still holding a space on our waitlist will be notified immediately (by both e-mail and mail) if a space becomes available and we are able to offer you a spot for 2006. We will also notify (by e-mail and mail) these students still holding a space on the waitlist (in the event we are not able to offer you a spot) by the end of June. No additional information from students holding a space on the waitlist is requested at this time and we respectfully ask that you not call or write to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions with new information or to check on your waitlist status, as we will be unable to provide you with any additional helpful information.

The Fall 2006 application deadlines for both first-year admission and transfer admission have now passed and we are no longer accepting any applications for Fall 2006 admission. The next application deadline is November 1 (for Early Decision first-year admission for Fall 2007). Applications for Fall 2007 will be available early this summer.

i haven't heard from columbia yet....did anyone get off the waitlist...i called columbia within the last 24 hrs...and they didnt even get all of the transfer responses yet

can someone plz post if they have heard anything from Columbia

this is killin me!!!

it means you are waitlisted, and most likely you won't be offered a spot, however if a spot does come up, they'll notify you. CMON you are going to UChic. so don't stress too much, best of luck bud :)

To me, it seems that a majority of the people on the waitlists heard some kind of news (most likely rejections) on June 2. So be thankful that you haven't heard anything.

They'll contact you in the near future if they are able to offer you a spot or the end of June if not.

Best of luck.

juicyfruit-- do you know of anyone who received a rejection on june 2nd?

Yeah, did anyone get released off the x-fer waiting list? No email for me last Friday...

neverborn, thanks for the LACK of encouraging news, most likely i won't be accepted, lol, i guess, its inevetable, i am not ivy league material (i mean, i go to cornell, but, i guess not the rest of the ivy league material)

God this is irritating, why do they have to bunch up the freshman and x-fer waitlist group? Makes me more confused about what the hell is actually going on.

i would love to go to cornell.

I feel stupid having had to deliberate past the deadline, but I just sent in my card today (declining acceptance in favor of Harvard), so waitlisters can cross their fingers...

woot augie :) i hope all the harvard-columbia cross admits are thinking that way

o my, other ppl must do this PLZ....we are desperate hereeeee

bball, if you don't get off the waitlist, you'll be going to uchicago?

This only pertains to Columbia College, not GS, correct?

yep, CC only.

just curious, i am really thinking about Northwestern...is that a bad move or something...on these boards...UChicago gets A LOT MORE respect

I'm gonna say choose Northwestern, but I'm sure you know I'm biased.

i declined the columbia offer a couple days ago too

thanks man lol.......

bball did you/are you going to send Chicago's deposit?
