Columbia Official Early Decision Class of 2010 Results

phantom what were your stats?

Great advice on here to those who were deferred.

Congrats! to those who were accepted.

To those who were rejected, it cannot be said enough: this does not mean you will not get into a great, great school. EVERY admissions department is different, every pool of applicants against which you will be compared is different, every year what specific skills/talents/personalities they need to fill out a well-rounded class is different. If you can get any feedback from Columbia through your GC, that would be great. But even if you do not, you WILL succeed somewhere that by Spring will seem to you like the school you were always meant to attend!

what was the subject of the email??

As a current Freshman, I remember this day last year. Congratulations and a warm welcome to the Columbia University family. You all earned your way here and the reward is better than anticipated.

As for those who got deferred, do not give up and I wish you the best of luck in the RD round.

For those who got rejected, do not take this as a sign of your abilities. Some schools are not a match and in the end, everything does work out. I can tell you this from experience with friends from last year.

Best of luck to all and for those who were accepted, Congratulations and welcome!

Sincerely,
Jaug1
Columbia College, Class of 2009

congratulations!!

my friend got rejected today and not only do i think that she's qualified, but she is the nicest soul that anybody could ever encounter. she imed me with only one word, "rejected" and i started crying for her!!
sometimes life is unfair.

Arkon when did you get your decision? What time?

rejected
...

Accepted to seas. I will post stats later. Too excited now.

solarle what time did you get your decision?

Oh, something I forgot to mention -- in your letter, you may want to let them know what you will to bring to the Columbia communit if you are accepted, and as phantom said, why you feel that Columbia is a good match for you.

im crying for everyone who didnt make it and not ready to celebrate for everyone else yet :( "those of us who are better off without columbia"... where are you applying?

can the rejected peopel post their stats too?

Meh, deferred...
But yeah, I'm definitely going to write a letter to show my interest.

I would like to say to all those who weren't accepted -- especially WISHFUL -- there is no such thing as only one perfect place. I realize how disappointed you feel right now, but you have so much going for you and so much to be proud of that I'm confident you will find as good, if not a better school match for you to devote yourself to for the next 4 years. Do not lose faith or doubt yourself: it IS out there waiting for you.

Deferrees have all my best wishes for your RD acceptance at Columbia, and/or elsewhere. Remember, there can be a number of advantages to ultimately having choices: I hope the prospect of having the possibility of choices to look forward to helps you feel less disappointed over not having a particular decision commitment at this point. The door hasn't necessarily been closed to you, instead a window has been opened.

Wishing you all the very best.

namkim, if you were rejected from your ED college and your dreams just got shattered, would you waste time posting your stats for other useless people to see? cmon, be more empathetic

Congrats to all others accepted, don't lose hope to all deferred, and best of luck to those rejected you'll all end up at an excellent school.
Lets start a new tread for those who were accepted with everyone’s contact information.
