Hey there all you sexycool princeton cats. Be nice why dont ya and pick. Columbia or Yale?

Yale, only because I can't stand Columbia's Core. I'm an International Baccalaureate (IB) student, and to think that I'd have to go through something similar at college makes me want to vomit (lol, sorry for the unpleasant image). Also, Yale has much more of a name, better resources, and has more of a "real campus feel" than Columbia which is in the middle of NYC.

That's my opinion.

Princeton c/o '09!!!!!!

Columbia will give you more resources, IMO. I'm not going to argue which one is safer, because both are unsafe in their little ways. Yale is stuck in the middle of New Haven, a crap town in my opinion that is full of either Yale buildings or law firms. And the Dunkin Donuts is dirty as hell there. Columbia is a few blocks from Harlem, but on the other hand, you have a lot more within a subway ride...chinatown, the met, int'l. businesses to possibly do internships at, etc. They are both very good in the humanities, but I think Columbia is better in terms of sciences. I think it comes down to what you want. Name vs. resources vs. major.

lol! And the reason this is on the Princeton thread is because.... :p

Although Columbia is in the city, people don't tend to go downtown THAT much. The campus is nicer at Yale, club scene is better at Columbia. Yale pays more attention to undergrads...

I'd pick Yale but it's hard to tell you what to choose.

(gianievve - I think the OP's got a good idea posting this here. A litlte less biased, maybe?)

I love Yale a lot (pton too). I think New Haven in all its sketchiness has a lot to offer in terms of experiences and service work you might initiate to make it better. The area also has a lot of its own culture. I know exactly zero about Columbia, but those are my thoughts on Yale.
