That is it, exactly. And the mix of accepted students may change year to year depending on institutional needs (that we aren’t privy to). There is more that goes into the secret sauce than gpa/rigor/tests because these schools have needs that go beyond the academic. For many parents that can be frustrating because there is no guaranteed recipe for success but that is the nature of the beast.
