Just a little clarification, if a student was to do the 3/2 program at Reed and columbia, I understand the student receives a bs from what they studied at Columbia, but what major do they get from Reed, because they don't offer some of the majors at Reed that they do at Columbia such as computer science?

Whatever you major in at Reed.

Reed is in the process of adding a computer science major, so the 3:2 programs in CS will probably be axed.

@International95 I am going to be graduating this coming year, do you know whether or not that major is going to be available should I attend?

It should be. Even if it isn’t, the University of Washington’s top program will still be available (which allows up to 5 Reedies to study CS at Wash).

@International95 Great thanks for the info, I haven’t seen any info about Reed having the major themselves, although on the Common App there is place to put down your academic interests in Computer Science so that is a good sign I would think. It would be really cool to be able to just study it there, when the school itself is what I am interested in anyway.

Regardless of future developments, you can still be a math major and take all the CS electives. You can also write a CS thesis.
