I was actually contacted for an interview, but I don’t think it was a “regular” interview. I was interviewed for HEOP or the Higher Educational Opportunity Program which is specifically designed for low-income students. Does anyone have any idea of how many people Columbia usually takes in, or took in in 2010, for this program? It’s weird because although I have a relatively high GPA, I had lost all hope for Columbia due to my mediocre SAT scores.

Also, @lionhear764, it’s okay if you were never contacted for an interview. In fact, Columbia does not interview the majority of its applicants because interviews depend on alumni availability as well as location. I’m pretty sure it wont have any effect on your admission. =D

I’m still nervous about never getting an interview; everyone else in my school (that I know of) who applied was contacted for one. Ah, well no changing it now! Less than 36 hours now!

littlejess : My son and another classmate at his school both got likely letters a few weeks ago without an interview. Good luck on your application tomorrow.

i am so pumped to be rejected tomorrow. im going to print it and frame it. <3

ive kinda come to realize columbia isn’t quite the school for me, so i can only really hope to achieve a beautiful rejection letter to hang on my wall.

So I just got rejected by Stanford but don’t feel bad at all. It actually seems kinda humorous to me. Hopefully I won’t feel too bad after getting three rejections tomorrow.

Less than 24 hours now! Anyone else freaking out?
I keep trying to brace myself for rejection but I can’t because I know I want to be there so badly.

@musicmaniac07…i have already prepared myself for rejection…my reaction for a rejection at this point will just be like- aww…okay…well oh well
but nothing more…that’s how ready i am for a rejection!
but i know what you mean. i would just LOVE to get in :/

I always seem to find that people that go to Columbia don’t even like it there generally. So maybe, you won’t miss out on much if you’re rejected! No worries guys!

I’ve been passing time by reading WikiCU, the Bwog, and the Spectator too!

I’ve fallen in love with Columbia’s “simultaneously optimistic, fatalistic, and perpetually anguished” personality. I want to study tenacious bureaucratic wrangling! ;w;

hey lullinatalk pretty much the same situation here. haha I’m actually not too bothered by it (the rejection). I think my sister will be more disappointed than I am (she went to Stanford).
