<p>Nice to meet you, too, Leproxyl! (and everyone else as well) I’m from CT, so I quite often take advantage of my relative proximity to the campus to just creep around on campus for no reason. Just kidding, I actually do the science honors program there, so my creeping is justified.</p>

<p>Just applied a few days ago actually. This is my 4th choice (Yale, Williams, Princeton, Columbia) although it’s not like it’s too far behind any of the other schools. If I get into any I’ll be ecstatic.</p>

<p>For those of you who JUST submitted app…</p>
<p>My D has decided just this week to apply to Columbia. Of course this means her high school cut-off date for transcripts to be sent by 1/1 is long gone. I told her to go ahead and apply, and just see (I NEVER usually say this kind of thing, I’m THE first one in line, I hate to make anyone wait and never counsel her to do that). But…at this point there is nothing else she can do. I don’t think her teachers will get her recs in time either. They might, but…</p>
<p>Anyway - i assume all of you have ways of getting your transcripts in before the deadline of 1/4? (maybe your school doesn’t have such an early cut off?). Or…you already sent them, or …??</p>

<p>From my experience last year, colleges are pretty lenient about their late policy. From financial aid to recommendations, they will work with you to get everything in on time. Now, I can’t say how that affects your decision, but at least they let you have a complete application.</p>
<p>A friend of mine accidentally only turned in the supplement to UChicago, and they emailed him asking for the Common App in late January. He was wait listed, but that might have been from other reasons. </p>
<p>I would just make sure the school and teachers know about the deadline. Maybe as a parent you can expedite the process on the school side. </p>
<p>And then be apologetic with Columbia. Might work. Worth trying.</p>
<p>Hey guys, I’m a deferred ED-er, which means I guess I’m pretty much an RD-er now! I’m kind of interested to see how the RD board is going to differ from the ED board.</p>
<p>I’m from right outside of Boston, and I go to a boarding school about 40 minutes away. My sophomore grades were really mediocre, and my freshman grades can’t really count because I had switched schools twice. But admissions is willing to give me another chance to keep my grades up, so I guess I’ll do that! I’ve wanted to go to Columbia since 6th grade so it’s been a pretty long dream for me. I fell in love with NYC when I was 5.</p>
