Hello everybody. I was just browsing through Columbia's Journalism School website and I was wondering where are the journalist at Columbia sent for internships. Do they actually report real world problems just as the professionals do or do they engage in smaller scale reports. I understand that columbia houses the best journalism school in the country so my guess is that they actually engage in professional and real world reporting. Im considering either SIPA or the Journalism school for grad in the future and I know this may not be undergrad related but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

i dont really understand what you mean by this. obviously if you end up landing an internship at CNN or MSNBC or the NYT you will be reporting on more globally relevant stories than if you land an internship at the Newark Gazette (<-- made this up but u get the point).

columbia's journalism school though, as with any grad school, doesn't "send" you to an internship....they just teach you and its up to you to find and get an internship.
