How prestigious is this program? Is it a good thing to have?

it is competitive to get into, though it might not help AS much if you're asian

Simply attending and getting a degree from Columbia is prestigious. I know a young woman who graduated from Columbia with a degree in Bioengineering last spring. The job offers with - as her mother says - obscene amounts of money were forthcoming months prior to graduation. During the years she was there, the Mom constantly waxed poetic about the fabulous education her daughter was getting. So, no doubt the answer is a resounding yes.

lol@ppl thinking of getting to an honors program @ a ivy school

= .0000000000001% chance of happening to a human being

OP is talking about the high school science honors program, which is hosted by CU, not an actual college honors program.

its quite prestigious and basically almost all asian from what I'm told depending on what you study =)

:) I'm going today. According to the letters CU sent out it only accepts 15% of the students who apply (though I only know one person who was rejected). Basically, if you get a good teacher recommendation, have good science grades, and score well on the entrance exam they give, you're in. I think it's pretty prestigious, and definitely good to have.
