Columbia SciencesPo. Dual Degree Fall 2014

@zdeminador, you will do fine tomorrow for your interview. Please let me know what kind of questions they ask.

@zdeminador

Oh good luck! (unless it’s already happened). If so, do keep us updated! Also, which campus did you apply to?

Several posters have asked whether a current applicant who has/does not get notified of an interview is effectively rejected - the answer appears to be yes. Does anyone have any reliable information on this?

@transatu and anyone else who was wondering,

The interview is a mandatory part of the program I think based on their wording. http://gs.columbia.edu/sciences-po/introduction</a> which states:

“The admissions process includes a review of the applicant’s academic history, letters of recommendation, SAT scores, a personal essay, and an interview conducted in English.”

I think this means that the process isn’t complete without an interview, but dont’ hold me to this!

The interview is definitely part of the admission process. If you weren’t invited for an interview that probably means you did not make it. Good luck to everyone.

Anyone already have an interview? If so could you give us some info on what kind of questions they asked?

DiRoland, what campus did you apply? and when is ur interview?

Did applicants who got their interview invitations finish the interview yet? Now, we only have to wait 'til the admission letter to come out. It’s going to be long long 30 days.

The interview is a little more intense than a normal alumni interview. It’s exactly as they describe: one representative from SciencesPo and one from Columbia. And they only last 30 minutes, with the first ~20-25 for them to ask you questions and the last ~5-7 for you to ask them questions.

They said that the admissions decisions would be made by April 1, but I think that they’ll be done sooner because they can’t have had more than 80 people to interview right?

SickofApps,
Just curious… where did you get the number 80 for interview??

Hey guys, I have just done my interview. They told me today was the last day that they were conducting interviews.

This dual program is my top choice, it will be so hard to hear for results!

Got the interview number from the time slots and days. I think 2-3 weeks of interviews (so 10 or 15 days), with 4 hours (10-12, 2-4) of interview per day, each interview being 30 minutes. So at most, they had 8 interviews per day for 10 or 15 days, meaning either 80 or 120 people got interviews. I’m assuming not every slot was filled and that there were two weeks of interviews, not three. But who knows.

Anyone know the definite date of decisions? They only said April 1.

Hey guys, any news about when they will release admission results? On their website it is April 1 but perhaps it can be sooner!

Columbia College releases the 27th. I’m guessing it’ll be next week hopefully…

how do they release the result for international students? Is it going to be via e-mail or actual package? If it’s an actual package that is going to be released on 27th, then I don’t think the international students can’t find about the results 'til the end of the first week of April due to the distance.

As an international student, I think they are going to let us know via mail. I spoke with the director of admissions, she told me they are planning to release decisions this week.

When you say mail, do you mean email or post mail? And this week? That’s very soon! I’m anxious now >.<

I’m so terrified! Either way, accepted or denied, I will be an emotional mess.
But best of luck to everyone and I hope we all make it, and for those who applied to Reims, maybe I’ll be seeing you as a classmate! Bonne chance!

Sorry coffeefloat, i meant email. I know right, it’ll be a long week! :)

Haha SaraSmith I applied to the Reims campus as well. This dual degree is my first choice, hope we both get in!

For Reims campus folks, apparently last year, they called the accepted students DIRECTLY sometime this week… makes it all the more suspenseful! G’luck to all!
