Columbia-SciencesPo Fall 2013

Thought I'd start this.

Anyone else applying to this dual BA program?
What's your background?

I’ll be applying!

I’m applying for sure! It is my #1 option for college. I spent my junior year abroad in France. I’m originally from Mexico but I live in the United States now. I’d prefer the Reims campus as well.

Dear all,

My name is Corentin and I am a current senior in the Dual BA Program between Columbia and Sciences Po. I am also a tour guide on campus. Please feel free to ask anything, I would be glad to help you in the application process or give you more info. about the program.

Corentin! I met you at Columbia and received the letter you sent!

I am also applying to columbia/sciencespo after a year abroad junior year. Definitely doing reims.

I’m also thinking of applying. One of my seniors got in last year. Does anyone have stats about the class of 2012?

if anyone wants to discuss how it is, feel free to PM me (im finishing my first semester at the Reims campus  )

Hi! This program is my #1 choice… I was wondering if you knew how many people applied and how many people get in? And what are the statistics, for example, SAT, gpa, etc… :)

I guess they didn’t release any official SAT/GPAs, but I heard it’s really competitive. An interesting thing is that if you apply for the Dual BA, you cannot apply to Columbia at the same time. Only after you get rejected will they consider you in the GS. In similar programs such as Yale-NUS, you could submit your app to Yale and just click a button to send your app to Yale-NUS college. Have you started your application yet?

Yeah, I’ve heard the same and it makes me extremely nervous! Do you know how many people apply?
Yeah I’m done with the tedious stuff but I’m working on my essays right now. What about you?

I just got my SATs, which is not really good. Would you mind telling me your SATs?

I applied to this program too! Does anyone have any information about how competitive the applicant pool is, because I cant find any information about that…
Also, is it a requirement that everyone be fluent in French by the end of the second year?? (I applied to reims…)

I applied aswell !

French is not required since all the courses are taught in English…

Given that they’re accepting what, 30 people? I hope all of you applicants are prepared for what comes (most will be rejected just numerically speaking). That being said, good luck to everyone (I didn’t apply for this program).

Gosh this is really stressing. I am so interested in this program, I really hope I’ll get in, though I know it is not really probable…

Which campuses did you guys choose ?

Deleted 10char

I’m going for Reims and le Havre…
Do you guys think knowing someone in Admissions Betters your chances?? Because i sat down and spoke to the assistant director for about an hour and she said that I was perfect for the program… how did everyone hear about the program btw?? I didnt even know it existed till like two months ago…

Last year they recieved a little over 200 applications and accepted 60 students. They’re expecting slightly more applicants this year and are planning on accepting the same number so it will be more competitive this time around. In regards to SAT scores/ACT scores, I was told that most applicants send in SAT scores of 1900+ or ACTs of 29+.
Like all of you, I’m ridiculously nervous to hear back! We’ll see how it goes. Best of luck!

I chose Reims and Menton ! I think Reims is the first choice in most of the applications, right ?

Thanks jdevv10, I actually thought it was 300 applications for 30 spots (that’s what they told me at Sciences Po during the open doors days).

Hey everyone,
