While Columbia should be the no-brainer choice, I have a conundrum.

After performing research at my current college in robotics, I've decided that ME is something I want to pursue instead of my current majot and genuinely enjoy doing it. However, my current college does not offer engineering.

So, I have a choice of transferring Columbia or NYU Poly (I need to remain in NYC or its vicinity as I'm stuck in a lease.) If I go to Columbia, I'll be in college another four years due to some redtape I've run into that's too long to go into detail about, if I attend NYU Poly, I'll be in school for only two years.

I sent in deposits to both schools just so that I wouldn't lose my spot. I don't care about losing money, I just want to make a good choice.
I'm already on my fourth year and want to be done with college, but really want to go to Columbia...but for four more years?

So, some advice would be appreciated. Should I suck it up and go to the school I really want to attend or settle for NYU Poly and get out in two years?
