Columbia sent application confirmation email to the wrong email address??

Hello everyone,

I’m confused because I put one email address on my Common Application, and all the schools I applied to sent confirmation/login information to that address.

However, Columbia sent me confirmation and app tracking login info to a different email address of mine (idk how they even have it)…is this kind of thing normal? I emailed them to ask about it, because their app tracking system doesn’t open until February, at which point it would too late to rectify an error.

What do you think? Thanks for the help!

What do you care which of your email addresses they use, as long as you get what they send? Or maybe the address of yours they used was something like PartyStud69@wasted.com? LOL

You are applying to an Ivy League university and you don’t know how to handle this situation? Seriously? Try emailing, calling, writing or visiting Columbia and asking them to use a particular email address. Don’t, however, tell them that you were initially clueless.

Can’t think of anything to do other than email or call them about it. And @Brexit99, that’s a little harsh. The person who’s helping you probably won’t be an admissions officer, it’ll probably be one of the students that works in the admissions office, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
