I'm going to apply to the Columbia summer program (I'm currently a sophomore). I have about a 3.8, 215~ish PSAT (dont remember exactly), good ECs, I'm a decent essay writer, and I have teachers who are willing to write amazing recs for me. Any idea of how selective it is? If you got in, please post your stats.

And anyone here have stories of the Columbia summer program? How did you like it?

it probably is selective, but not too selective. I'm guessing there aren't too many people willing to cough up the 10 grand to go to spain, so if you want to do that you'll def. get in. The program here is probably more expensive, but once again they want as much $$ as they can get. with your stats, i'd be surprised if you didn't get in.

No, I think most summer programs, Ivy or not, where you have to pay (pay is the key word) are non-selective as long as you have a decent GPA, decent recs, and can cough up all the money. I'm pretty sure most people get in.

You'll definetely be fine- the most important thing with these programs is to apply fast, because if they fill up, you're not going to get in no matter how good you are.

I just got into this one and may go...and I went to another similar one last year. As long as you have a decent psat/act 1800+ and a 3.5+ gpa UW as well as some ec's you're in.

Agree with posts above. Remember, what's important is how well you do in the program, not really that you got in/ attended.
